A crusty old Sergeant Major found himself at an event hosted by a
liberal arts college. There were plenty of very attractive young ladies in attendance, one of whom approached him. “Excuse me, Sergeant Major, but you seem to be a very serious man. Is something bothering you?”

“Negative, miss,” the Sergeant Major said, “just serious by nature.”

The young lady looked at his decorations and said, “It looks like you have seen a lot of action.”

The Sergeant Major’s terse reply was, “Affirmative, miss. Lots of action.”

Tiring of trying to start up a conversation, she said, “You should lighten up a little. Relax and enjoy yourself. If I may ask, when was the last time you had sex?”

The Sergeant Major looked at her and replied, “1955.”

She said, “Well, there you go. You really need to quit taking everything so seriously! No sex since 1955? Isn’t that a little extreme?”

Glancing at his watch, the Sergeant Major replied, “I wouldn’t say that, miss. It’s only 2130 now.”

Hey Zombi, You have my boat, or at least I now know mine is not the only one out there. We bought the pollywog (rechristened by us, I know bad luck but we did not like the old name and these boats look like one) from a front yard in Vermont and are mostly happy exploreing Lake Champlain. Do you know anything more about the Gowanda's history. Where it was made, etc. Does your daggerboard fit so loose as to allow alot of water to slop in at times? I am working on that and a few other quirks but mostly having fun with cheap sailing on a happy little boat. We are planning a trip on the Rideau canal this May with it. Some sailing and some putting with the 2hp she came with. Happy to hear of any other quirks with this boat.
